Our Story
Dan and I had been talking about getting married so I thought there was no way Dan would be able to surprise me when he proposed. I was wrong!! I had no idea he even had the ring the day he decided to propose. Dan had been working long, over night hours at work so we hadn't seen each other much starting mid March until about the end of April. We also hadn't seen our families that much! After his long hours were done, Dan and I went to see his family Friday night and didn't think anything of it when Dan suggested seeing my family Saturday. It was the first nice Saturday in April - it was warm and the sun was shining! What a beautiful day!! He told me to call my mom and ask if they were up for a cook out. Of course they were excited to have us come in and visit so my mom got everything together right away. She called my grandparents and my brother and invited them over as well (not knowing that Dan was going to propose at the cook out). While I was inside the house, Dan informed my family that he was going to propose - they had a hard time hiding their excitement!! Finally, after we had finished eating and just sitting around talking, Dan pulled the ring out of his pocket. He got down on one knee and proposed - I, of course, said yes!!! The way he proposed to me showed me just how well Dan knows me. He knows how important my family is to me, so he decided they should be there when he did it. It was absolutely perfect!!

How We Met
Dan and I met at Lebanon Valley College in Annville PA! He was a freshman just starting out and I was a senior getting ready to graduate. The series of events that led to us meeting each other is pretty amazing. I was majoring in Biology and Dan was a music recording tech major. So far, seems pretty unlikely our paths would cross at all!! Here's what happened: I switched majors a year into my college career but I still wanted to graduate on time. My advisor suggested that I double up on Biology classes and I should be fine to graduate when I planned. It worked perfectly until I got to my senior year. I needed to take 2 Biology classes as well as Physics but one Biology class was offered at the same time as the Physics class. I was out of options until my advisor talked to the Physics department and got me into the Physics class that was reserved specifically for...you guessed it, freshman recording technology majors!! And that is how we met - I was the only senior Biology major in this class of just about ALL freshman guys. It was an interesting year, but fortunately Dan was brave enough to be my lab partner and now we are getting married!
